Painting miniatures you frequently end up painting your hands. Or at least I do. Maybe deliberately so. I figure I’ve painted so many miniatures and hands by this point that I’ve practically covered myself head to toe like Peeta did in the Hunter Games.
Oh yeah, that made no sense to me back then either.
I will always appreciate Josh Hutcherson for Bridge to Terabithia, though.
I guess I draw buttcheeks now.
And random background speed lines.
And random shading hatchlines.
I should take a class or something.
Every time there’s a “simple” solution to getting things done, there’s some bonkers part of it that requires you to commit 3 hours of your life every day for the rest of your life. And of course, some people like to say “work smarter, not harder,” and that certainly applies. But if you work smarter AND harder, just think of the results!

The left is based on a photo of my son. It doesn’t really look like him, but I did try to make sure the eyelashes made it into the picture. We still have arguments about sleep and bedtime.
The right is based on a photo of my mom from the last Thanksgiving we had as a family where she was completely lucid. The likeness to the photo isn’t the best, but I’m proud of it anyway.

Yes, I looked up the music video to Selena Gomez’s Love Song song. It’s just that ridiculous of a song that you would pinata a heart to death.
Heck, a song about pinata’ing a heart to death would probably be lyrically fascinating. Especially once you have the kids underneath trying to capture all the sweets.
